The Maasai Mara is renowned for being home both to the world-famed 'Wildebeest Migration', and to the BBC's long-running TV series, 'Big Cat Diary'.
Tsavo National Park is the largest in Kenya, and is divided into Tsavo West and East for purely administrative purposes. The two are divided by the Nairobi to Mombasa road and railway.
Although the three destinations in Kenya described above are possibly the best-known with Kenya safari-goers, there are still further areas worthy of mention that may offer more appeal to experienced safari-goers or those with specific interests.
In addition to the game parks designed to provide the classic safari experience, Kenya possesses other regions of great interest, ranging from Lakes and Beaches to the capital city of Nairobi itself.
Once the playground of Kenya's infamous 'Happy Valley' social set, Lake Naivasha now provides a haven of rest and relaxation which makes the best possible use of the remaining colonial ambiance.
Lake Victoria - and in particular its Mfangano Island - offers you an interesting alternative to an Indian Ocean beach holiday as a means of relaxing after a hectic game-viewing safari.
