Located on the mainland to the north of Lamu Island and opposite Manda Island, this is a family owned lodge situated in a sheltered bay on the edge of the Indian Ocean. Across the dunes lie the Dodori and Boni game reserves and few places in the world can boast such seclusion. As a beach destination it is simply stunning.
There are 18 luxurious traditional styled thatch bandas spread along the sandy shoreline with woven matting floors and palm thatch roofs. They each offer a spacious bedroom with king size bed and locally made furniture, dressing area and open air en-suite bathroom with twin basins, shower with solar heated hot water, bidet and flushing toilet. Each has a veranda with panoramic views across the lagoon.
The lodge is exquisitely decorated. There is a shop, a central bar and dining room all built to blend into the natural surroundings. The food is excellent here with a definite Italian touch to the cuisine together with lots of fresh fruit and excellent fresh seafood.
