This is a small eco-friendly and comfortable lodge situated at the one end of the spectacular 12 km Shela Beach, a 30 minute boat ride from the airport on Manda Island. This is the ultimate no news, no shoes, beach resort, secluded and tranquil.
There are 8 thatched cottages beautifully appointed and set well apart from each other right on the beach with unrivalled sea views. Each has a large double bed and comfy chairs. There is a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet, hot water shower and wash basin.
Enjoy fine dining on the balcony of your banda or join other guests in the bar and dining room with a magnificent view across the bay to the mainland. Delicious meals are served in the restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean using only the freshest local produce.
Fishing, bird and bush walks, snorkelling on coral reefs, a chance to swim with dolphins, cycle rides, kayaking, village visits, sunset dhow trips or a guided tour of Lamu Town are on offer here together with turtle watching. The lodge supports a local turtle conservation project.
