Il Moran is an exclusive luxurious tented camp set in the shade of old African fig trees on the banks of the Mara River. It is a small but spacious camp with an intimate atmosphere. Birds and butterflies abound and elephants often wander through the camp. Frequently leopards are heard calling nearby at night.
All the 10 luxury tents line the wandering banks of the Mara River. Each has a king size bed fashioned from ancient olive wood and the tents are furnished to a superior standard. The en-suite bathrooms are large with shower, Victorian baths and double wash basins. Each has an extended verandah where you can have dinner in private if you wish.
Daytime meals are served under the giant fig trees, buffet style, offering a tempting array of food. In the evening a cordon-bleu dinner is served by candlelight ensuring a memorable dining experience.
There are 3 game drives per day or you can take an early morning hot air balloon flight, or visit a local school or Maasai village. There is also the possibility of going on game walks. Full or overnight excursions to Lake Victoria can also be arranged.
10 large and luxurious tents.

Il Moran is part of the Governors Camps collection, and very much its most exclusive and expensive (apart, that is, from Governors Private Camp). But very well worth the difference in cost.
Walking safaris (at extra cost) take place within a private concession just outside the actual Mara Reserve. Morning walks incorporate a champagne bush breakfast; evening walks culminate in sundowners accompanied by canapes.
